Nursing in Birmingham, UK

Places available for January 2026

Pathways into Birmingham City University (BCU)

The nursing degrees at Birmingham City University (BCU) are approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), so you will be able to apply for Registered Nurse Status on completion.

You will spend half your time each year on placement in different hospital and clinical settings, allowing you to engage continuously with practice partners and service users. Placements will be available across University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust – one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England.

Start your nursing journey with a foundation at BCUIC, the on-campus pathway college. Upon successful  completion of the foundation at BCUIC, you can progress into the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) or BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health).
